To the JPL folks :
Is the Galileo high-gain antennae been written off ? That's what a report
on CNN today seemed to indicate ... they reported that attempts to open the
antennae had been all but written off and efforts were now turning to
rewriting the system software for improved throughput from the low-gain
antennae. Anyone care to shed some light on the subject ?

Yep ... you simply turn it around and use it to capture the *outward* solar
wind of your destination star to slow you down.
